I experienced two main challenges with this campaign
Challenge: Keeping my Identity private
No one wants their boss to know that they are job hunting. That’s why I had to hide my identity for this campiagn. Key details linked to my identity (name, number and contact details) had to be omitted without compromising the advert.
Solution: Use what you know to get what you want
Luckily for me, I am experienced with this type of thing. I edited many candidate and job profiles back when I was working at the recruitment arm of ADvTECH Resourcing. The recruitment is a very competitive industry. As the Digital Marketing Specialist, I had to edit the copy to ensure that the profiles loaded on the website and newsletter did not contain personal or company details that could lead to the identity of the candidates (job seekers) or clients (employers). I used this experience to write my advert such that no one could uncover my identity through the advert. The only clue to my identity was the website link provided alongside the advert.
Challenge 2: Write as much as possible without revealing my identity
This point is closely linked to the first point I raised. I had to write as much as needed about myself, achievements, qualifications and work experience. Recruiters and employers need you to convince them to read more or contact you. In my case, I needed to convince them to click the link to my website. The link I provided was a dedicated landing page I created specifically for this campaign, www.ofentseolunloyo.com/cv.
